Hello, dear ones! What can I do for you? A schnapps and a beer - or would you prefer a cup of coffee? Nice, that you found your way here. - That shows that you have good taste! Our Lindenhof is Wildeshausen's first address! Well, maybe not the very first, but we're getting there! The house has had a liquor license since 1800. Imagine that! Not bad huh? And we have a big history, (haha!) big for a town like Wildeshausen anyway. But as the saying goes: the inner values count, right? Well, you know, when I was young I lived in Bremen -and that's a completely different story- but, to be honest, I'm glad I ended up in lovely Wildeshausen, and I’d be a fool to leave again! But back to our story. You know that we have another room behind the house, right? Since the 1960s and 1970s there have been elegant dance events and theater performances. But then, around the turn of the century, things got really crazy. The then owner of the hall, Mr. Immohr, had a cinematograph set up here. With it you could show moving pictures for the first time! So that was the first time something like cinema in Wildeshausen! That was something like a cinema in Wildeshausen for the first time. But we have much more to offer. One of the previous owners of the Lindenhof was a Mr. Benecke, yes, exactly, the author of the Wildeshauser Schützenlied, the famous Wildeshausen anthem. But we are not only important in the big picture (haha) but also in the small, everyday things. We have quite a few regulars here. And the young people who come here regularly either call me “Mother Marianne” or just “Mother”. Well, they shouldn't let their parents hear that, but I have to say I think it's nice, because it shows the loving togetherness that we have here. In addition, a "mother" can sometimes pull your ears out if the nonsense you're doing is getting too cocky. - Or if the boys had more than enough to drink! Yes, we have owned the Lindenhof since 1937. First my father, I since 1951. A lot has happened in that time. Lots of good, but also some bad. But let's not get started on that. Dear friends, now tell me: Where are you from? And what would you like to drink now?
